Weird and Wonderful in the Late Renaissance
A workshop day for singers with reasonable choral experience
Director Greg Skidmore

St. Pauls, West Street, Brighton
Sat 11 June 2016
9.45 am to 6pm

Entitled 'Weird and Wonderful in the Late Renaissance', this workshop will be suitable for reasonably experienced choral singers who are keen to explore the wide range of musical styles to be found in the works of Tallis, Byrd, Lassus and Gesualdo. The intensely expressive works of Gesualdo use a chromatic style that was centuries ahead of its time, but Byrd and Lassus also wrote some "surprising" pieces. Tallis is just wonderful!

Copies of the music will be available in pdf format approximately one month before the workshop
