BREMF Education

BREMF is about much more than just concerts. Outside the Festival we run three choirs (see the BREMF ensembles section for more information), and our schools programme reaches over 1200 children each year in Brighton & Hove Schools.

Primary Schools

Our work with primary schools ranges from large scale projects leading to participation in Festival events to one-off visits to school from a BREMF ensemble. In 2019 pupils from Westdene and Goldstone primary schools performed at the Festival as part of our Feast of Fools community project in Brighton, Rottingdean and Shoreham.

Each spring we organise a series of visits to Brighton & Hove primary schools by up and coming early music ensembles who are part of our BREMF Live! young artists scheme. Recent workshops have seen vocal warm-ups and fun with Year 1, exploring lute songs with Year 2, and a workshop for a KS2 school choir. Please get in touch with cathy@bremf.org.uk if you would like to register your school’s interest for the future.

BREMF is a partner of Create Music, the music hub for Brighton, Hove & East Sussex.
