Angus Smith More luck than judgement? Definitely!
How I started singing
When my days as a very mediocre boy treble ended I concentrated all my musical energy on becoming a trumpeter. On one day at school, however, I was walking through the music room when the choir director asked me to help out in a singing lesson he was giving to two of my fellow 6th formers - the three of them were singing a four-part piece and needed a 2nd tenor. To his surprise - and mine! - it turned out that I could make a respectable sound. After some singing lessons, a choral scholarship and over 25 years in the singing profession, I guess there might have been something in it.
Why I love it

Total immersion in music. Not impossible to achieve if you are a listener, but much easier if you get involved!
