Jane Richards From plainchant to rock
How I started singing
I'm told that I hummed the tune of "Now the day is over" whilst in my pram - in tune! Moving on from then, I sang in school and college choirs and had lessons. I now sing in adult chamber choirs & on the stage; I also give solo recitals. The music I sing ranges from plainchant and early music through oratorio, opera, lieder and art songs to show music - I even sang briefly in a rock band!
Why I love it

First and foremost, it is the music itelf. There's nothing quite so fulfilling taking part in a performance of a work that really moves you. I also love performing and find singing to be a wonderful release from the stresses and strains of life.
