Your opportunity to hear the newest cohort of ensembles selected for the 2025 BREMF Emerging Artists scheme. Each ensemble presents a 20-minute performance, showcasing a programme which explores connections between music and nature.

Previous participants have gone on to be selected as BBC New Generation Baroque Ensembles and enjoyed national and international success – this is your chance to hear the stars of tomorrow!

The Byrds & the Bees
A romp through 16th Century English and Italian countrysides. Bold shepherdesses tease amorous shepherds, God is praised with cymbals and harps whilst the bees revel in ambrosian cheer, drunk on the nectar stored in their curious cabinets.

Communion of the Divine
The voice of the sackbut has long been used to symbolise divine presence in earthly instrumental sound. In this programme The Royal Sackbut Collective present music by Monteverdi and Gabrieli which explores dialogue between heaven and earth ranging from the court of King Henry VIII, a king who ruled by divine right, to earthly prayers sent to the heavens by an imploring nymph..

An immersive journey blending music from Charpentier, Monteverdi, and Codex Zuola, with spoken poetry from Camões and Harriet Cameron performed with improvised harpsichord accompaniment.
