Preparing for a post-COVID future
The last three years have been extremely challenging for the whole arts and culture sector, with many live events cancelled and others only able to go ahead with reduced audiences. Even in 2024 audience numbers are not yet back to where they were, costs have gone up, and competition is very high for a reduced level of funds within the arts and charity sector, meaning that the grant-giving landscape remains very competitive.
As a registered charity which receives no guaranteed core funding, BREMF always needs support from individual donors like you. In return, we offer a range of benefits to bring you closer to the creative process of the UK’s most innovative early music festival.
Please support us in any way you can, and wherever you live by joining our Friends Scheme, sponsoring a particular project or by making a donation.
Become a Festival Friend
Become a member of the BREMF family as a Festival Friend and keep BREMF alive.
There are a number of different levels at which you can support us, starting from just £35. Most funders will not support our core running costs, so this type of flexible support is vital.
Range of Friend benefits
We welcome our Friends with a range of benefits from priority ticket booking, to Friends’ receptions at events. We are very grateful to everyone who supports us, at whatever level.

BREMF Sponsorship Scheme
Make a donation for a specific activity through our BREMF Sponsorship Scheme.
Our Festival Sponsorship Scheme runs alongside our Friends membership scheme, and allows you to support the areas that interest you most. With fewer live events possible recently our focus has had to change, but the three main areas for sponsorship remain.
Sponsorship options
Event Sponsor:
support the production of specific online programmes: artists’ fees, filming and recording, animation, photography etc.
Education Sponsor:
support the production of high-quality online materials for use in the classroom, which will be designed in partnership with our artists and schools.
Young Artist Sponsor:
support our BREMF Live alumni to develop much-needed digital skills and experience. Our online support will include mentoring and seminars to enable young artists to adapt to the post-COVID world.
Our thanks
We would like to thank all those who have generously supported the festival over the years. Without your help, Brighton Early Music Festival could not continue to bring top quality artists to Brighton. Thank you!
We also remember Vivienne Carter, Alex Bruce and Tom Clemens whose legacy donations continue to enable the work of the festival and who are fondly remembered by all of us at BREMF.
Contact Harriet Lawrence at harriet@bremf.org.uk to find out how you can fund the future of Early Music by remembering BREMF with a gift in your Will.
