Brighton Early Music Festival events take place in a variety of exceptional venues across Brighton and Hove (often up to 15 different venues each year), and getting to see some intriguing buildings and locations is part of the Festival’s magic. Almost all are easily accessible by public transport and we also list the closest car parks and on-street parking. See Venue Information below for more details.

Downsway, Woodingdean, Brighton BN2 6BD Public transport: Buses 2 and 22 from central Brighton stop directly outside the church on Warren Road. Parking: Free on-street parking is available on Downsway and surrounding roads. The church has a small car park which may be available for disabled parking. EV charging: on-street type 2 chargers on Kipling Avenue and Batemans Road in Woodingdean operated by Blink. Asda at Brighton Marina has type 2 chargers operated by BP Pulse.

In addition buses: 1/1X, 14B, 23 & (daytime only) 271, 272 run from various locations to County Hospital. Buses: 1/1X 7/N7 14B 14C 23 37 & (daytime only) 271 272 to County Hospital; 12/12A, 14/14A, 27 along Marine Parade to Paston Place. Parking: On-street parking near the church (limited) but also on Marine Parade to the east. Lewes Road, Brighton BN2 3HQ. Train: 20-25 minutes' walk from Brighton Station or Compass bus 37 (infrequent) from stop H. Alternatively take a 10 minute walk to Churchill Square to connect with several of the buses listed below. Buses: 25, 28/29, 48, 49 serve the Elm Grove stop on Lewes Road and 21, 22, 23 serve the stop at the bottom of Elm Grove. Parking: NB Lewes Road is now a red route so no stopping is permitted, even to drop off or collect a passenger. Limited on-street parking near church - payment by the pay-by-phone app or at a convenience store with PayPoint (Lewes Road Premier Convenience Store 192-193 Lewes RD and Liquor Hut store 53 Lewes Road – see getting there section). Alternatively, park at London Road car park (see information for St Bartholomew’s). From there a 10-15 min walk or most buses listed above from London Road shops (stop C).
