Online training sessions for young artists – Spring 2024

As well as planning for the 2024 Festival (more news to come very soon), BREMF is working with our BREMF Live young artist ensembles this spring on a series of online training development sessions which are also open to the wider sector.

Between now and the end of March, BREMF will be running a series of 5 online training sessions via Zoom, which are aimed at helping young artists develop skills and awareness of some of the practical elements involved in developing a successful career. These sessions are open to the whole sector, and can also be a useful reminder for more established artists and ensembles.

The five sessions are:

Session 1: Friday 12 January, 16.00 – 17.30 UK time
How to put together a compelling programme and approach promoters
with Deborah Roberts (Artistic Director, BREMF) and Harriet Laidler (Making Music)

Session 2: Wednesday 24 January, 14.00 – 15.30 UK time
How to manage your ensemble and juggle a portfolio career
with Cathy Boyes (Festival Producer, BREMF) and Olwen Foulkes (Ensemble Augelletti)

Session 3: Monday 19 February, 15.00 – 16.30 UK time
The power of marketing
with James Armstrong (Creative Director, Social Firefly)

Session 4: Monday 26 February, 11.00 – 12.30 UK time
How to raise funds for your ensemble or project including from Arts Council Project Grants

Session 5: Friday 15 March, 15.00 – 16.30 UK time

with Harriet Lawrence and Cathy Boyes (BREMF)

This page will be updated with dates for the remaining sessions once confirmed.
